Anyone who has read my book or articles on my blogs knows that I personally do not like guns. I do not hunt and I do not have any interest in skeet shooting or target practice. I am not a conservative or liberal. I am more of a Libertarian that anything else. I am a firm believer in the right to bear arms and any fool with any common sense knows what was meant by it when it was written. Every time their is an incident with a gun some congressman/woman goes off political grandstanding in a supposed concern over gun violence. They introduce some anti-gun bill with Utopian ideals. I urge everyone to contact their Representatives to NOT consider any part of this bill as being valid.
I would like to see a bill or resolution that no new gun legislation shall be introduced unless it is in regard to something new. No more of these tired attempts to deprive us of the right to bear arms. Something new would be like a laser gun or some other new weaponry that is not specifically covered by existing laws. Any attempt to violate our right should be looked upon as an act of treason or an attempt to over throw the Government. Gun violence is a problem but it is not one caused by law abiding citizens.
On another note I would like to mention the Pickens Plan army. I myself do not believe in everything the Plan proposes and I think it is too narrow in scope. I do however support Pickens because we have someone who is willing to stand up and lead the way in alternative energy. It is a start and it is very important that we act on energy independence. We are currently importing 62% of our oil. This makes us a slave to foreign interests. We are weak because of it, economically and militarily. We are sending our money to people who hate us and wish to do us harm. I can not emphasize how precarious our position is.
